Paradise of Nine

Nine hops, all from New Zealand, in one Double NEIPA. Guggman Haus is either showing off or just being thorough. At 8.2 percent, I'm inclined to call it showing off, generously.

Nine different hops in one beer sounds less like a recipe and more like a brewer who couldn't narrow down a shortlist. Guggman Haus went with all of them anyway.

Paradise of Nine is a DDH Double NEIPA at 8.2% ABV, starring nine hops from New Zealand, Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka, and Wai-iti among them. The payoff is extravagant, tropical fruit, mango, passionfruit, cantaloupe, finishing with that distinctive zesty New Zealand hop character that ties the whole thing together instead of turning it into noise.

Indianapolis' Guggman Haus tapped this one Thursday, part of a three-beer release that suggests a brewery in a genuinely productive mood this week.

Available now in cans.

Nine hops is excessive. It also, somehow, works.
