REBEL (Storm Shadow) Restarts the COBRA Series After Three Years

Adroit Theory's G.I. Joe-inspired COBRA series returns after three years with REBEL, a Storm Shadow-themed Hazy Triple IPA loaded with flaked grains and dry-hopped with four hop varieties.

Adroit Theory Brewing Company has revived REBEL, the fourth release in its 12-part COBRA series, a set of beers paying homage to G.I. Joe and its arch-nemesis organization. The series returns after a three-year hiatus, with this entry themed around the character Storm Shadow.

The brewery packed the recipe with flaked oats, flaked wheat, and spelt, aiming for the soft, pillowy malt body that's become a signature of its hazy lineup. It's double dry-hopped with Citra, Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin, and Zappa, a combination Adroit Theory says produces juicy aromatics of fresh cut passion fruit and candied lychee, with a hint of dank resin coming through in the finish.

REBEL is available now on draft and in cans at the Purcellville taproom.
