Fruits of War Layers Blueberry Over a Pina Colada Base

Fruits of War adds blueberry and passion fruit to Adroit Theory's Pina Colada-style smoothie sour base, combining tart fruit with coconut for what the brewery calls a jammy summer treat.

Adroit Theory Brewing Company builds several of its smoothie sours around a Pina Colada base, and Fruits of War is the latest variation on that theme. The Purcellville brewery adds blueberry and passion fruit to the coconut and pineapple foundation, a combination it describes as a jammy summer treat.

The brewery says the tart sweetness of the blueberry and pineapple plays against the coconut and passion fruit, giving the beer a thick, smoothie-like pour consistent with the rest of its smoothie sour lineup. As with its other fruited releases, the beer is not filtered for clarity, leaning instead into a heavier body and concentrated fruit character.

Fruits of War is a crowler-only release, part of a rotating slate of fruited and smoothie sours the brewery regularly cycles through its tasting room offerings.

It is available now as a limited crowler pour at the Purcellville taproom.
