None Sober Marks 30 Years of a Cryptopsy Record at 12 Percent

Adroit Theory teamed with the metal band Cryptopsy to mark the 30th anniversary of the album None So Vile with a 12 percent Hazy Quadruple IPA built to match the record's intensity.

Adroit Theory has released None Sober, a Hazy Quadruple IPA made in collaboration with the metal band Cryptopsy to mark the 30th anniversary of the band's album None So Vile. The Purcellville, Virginia brewery says its team shares a genuine interest in heavy metal across its subgenres, and that connection led to the collaboration.

At 12% ABV, None Sober sits well above the typical hazy IPA. The brewery describes it as decadently pillowy and full bodied, with an outrageously hoppy profile that scales up with the alcohol content. Band collaboration beers can be more about the label than the liquid, but a quadruple IPA at this strength suggests Adroit Theory built the beer to hold its own alongside the record it references.

None Sober is available now on draft and in cans at the Purcellville taproom.
