DEATH.NET Returns After a Year of Recipe Rework

Adroit Theory Brewing Company brought back DEATH.NET, a West Coast IPA double dry-hopped with Citra, Strata, and Chinook, after a recipe re-address the brewery says has been over a year in the making.

DEATH.NET is back on tap at Adroit Theory in Purcellville, Virginia, more than a year after the West Coast IPA was last brewed. The brewery says the recipe has been re-addressed now that brewer Mike is fully up to speed, and the beer returns double dry-hopped with Citra, Strata, and Chinook.

According to the release notes, this iteration pours light and golden and leans toward drinkability rather than intensity: not bone dry, but dry enough to balance easy drinking against the assertive, aromatic hop character the style is known for. The brewery describes notes of pine, grapefruit, and dankness running through it.

Adroit Theory has built a reputation around hop-forward IPAs and a rotating, often gothic-themed lineup, and a recipe this brewery chooses to revisit after a year away is worth a second look on that basis alone.

DEATH.NET is available now at the Adroit Theory taproom, on draft and in cans.
