Barrel Aged Banoconut Pie Runs on Wild Thai Banana

Corporate Ladder Brewing releases Barrel Aged Banoconut Pie, a 14 percent stout aged 32 months in Willett bourbon barrels with wild Thai banana, coconut, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Corporate Ladder Brewing Company has released Barrel Aged Banoconut Pie, a stout built around wild Thai banana, coconut, vanilla beans, and cinnamon, a specific and slightly unusual combination that reads more like a dessert recipe than a typical stout adjunct list. The beer spent 32 months, just under three years, in Willett Family Estate 10 Year bourbon barrels before it was ready to pour, giving the bourbon's own vanilla and caramel notes time to fold into the banana and coconut rather than sit on top of them.

At 14 percent ABV, it's one of two barrel-aged stouts the brewery released together this month, alongside the reopening of its Share Holders Bottle Club, each one built around its own distinct fruit-and-barrel pairing.

Barrel Aged Banoconut Pie is pouring now on draft at Corporate Ladder Brewing in Palmetto.
