I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up to No Good

Somewhere between a raspberry pastry and a beer, Corporate Ladder built a 6.5% gluten-free dessert beer around raspberry, almonds, and pound cake, and named it after a magic map that only reveals itself to people up to something.

A beer naming itself after a magical map is one thing. A beer actually tasting like the raspberry-almond pastry sitting next to that map is a slightly harder trick, and Corporate Ladder appears to have pulled it off anyway.

This is a gluten-free dessert beer built on raspberry, almonds, and pound cake, landing somewhere between a bakery case and a fruited sour without fully committing to either. Soft nuttiness, a rich fruity presence, a finish the brewery is calling "bakery-inspired" - which is either a bold claim or an accurate one, and there is only one way to find out. It is one of four beers dropping for the brewery's Harry Potter weekend, none of them available for preorder, all of them taproom-only in 16oz four-packs while supplies last.

It releases Saturday at noon, on draft and in limited to-go packages. A dessert beer with this specific a flavor brief either nails it or it doesn't, and there's no way to know from a distance.
