Corporate Ladder Brewing Company has put Share Holder Stout Exclusive No. 5 on draft, a barrel-aged stout the brewery describes as PB&J-inspired. It spent 52 months, well over four years, in grape brandy barrels with peanut butter and grape added.
The barrel choice is more deliberate than it might first look: grape brandy barrels carry the residual character of the fruit they once held, which gives the "jelly" side of the sandwich concept a real foundation in the wood itself rather than relying purely on added flavoring. Combined with peanut butter, the result is a stout built to chase a specific, familiar flavor pairing rather than a generic barrel-aged profile.
At 10 percent ABV, the beer is part of the brewery's Share Holders Bottle Club program, which recently reopened enrollment. Corporate Ladder says nearly half of its available stout memberships have already been claimed for this cycle.
Share Holder Stout Exclusive No. 5 is pouring now on draft at Corporate Ladder Brewing in Palmetto.
