Two hazy, hop-forward IPAs and then, right in the middle of the lineup, a German lager showing up to remind everyone that restraint is also a skill.
NP Helles is North Park's homage to classic German lager brewing, built with a selection of German malts, noble hops, and their house lager yeast at 5% ABV. What comes out is a bready, malt-accentuated backbone balanced by soft bitterness, delicate spice, and floral hoppy notes, finishing snappy and crisp instead of loud. Sharing a release week with two hopped-up IPAs and still holding its own is not a small thing for a beer this quiet.
Part of this week's triple can release, available for pickup or CA shipping. Prost, and don't let the loud neighbors distract you from this one.
