Buglet

Buglet is not a name that inspires confidence. The deep magenta sour underneath it, passionfruit and blackberries at 5.9 percent, does the actual convincing.

Buglet is not, on its face, a name that makes you want to order it. Original Pattern doesn't seem concerned about that.

It's a Sour at 5.9% ABV, brewed with luscious passionfruit and juicy blackberries, pouring a stunning deep magenta with a fizzy, effervescent head that does more to sell the beer than the name does. One of six new releases from Oakland's Original Pattern this week, and the kind of quiet standout that a strange name can accidentally bury.

Small breweries take chances on names sometimes. This is one of the ones where the chance was worth taking.
