Aussie Fuzzy Friends

A hazy DIPA built entirely on Australian hops sounds like a novelty. Aussie Fuzzy Friends, stacked with mango and stone fruit at 8.2 percent, is not a novelty.

A Hazy DIPA leaning entirely on Australian hops sounds, at first glance, like a gimmick built around geography rather than flavor. I was fully prepared to say so.

Then there's the actual beer: Aussie Fuzzy Friends, 8.2% ABV, built on AU Enigma, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, and Centennial, delivering ripe mango, passion fruit, and juicy berries with hints of white grape and stone fruit riding underneath. That's a genuinely layered profile, not just "Australian hops, insert here."

Oakland's Original Pattern rolled this out as part of a six-beer release, and of that lineup, this is the one flexing the hardest, both in ABV and in hop selection.

Should have been a gimmick. Isn't one. Drink it anyway.
