A brewery describing its own beer as "beer flavored beer for those who like, beer" is either a joke at the style's expense or the most honest pitch in the lineup. Turns out it's both.
Neighborhood Light is Fifth Ward's new American Lager, brewed with German lager yeast for traditional aroma and flavor, pale gold and light on frills at 5% ABV and 14 IBU. Simple and smooth is the whole design brief here, and the beer doesn't pretend to be more than that. Sometimes the honest, unpretentious lager is exactly the one worth having.
Available in four-packs and on tap at the Oshkosh taproom starting Friday. No gimmick, no story, just a beer that knows what it is.
