You know how it goes when a friend hands you their recipe for something they're genuinely proud of. There's a little pressure that comes with it. Highland Park Brewery handed Green Cheek their recipe for Timbo Pils, a fan favorite over there, and Green Cheek is now pouring it at all three of its spots this week.
It starts life as a straightforward German Pils, then gets dry hopped heavily with hand-selected lots of Mosaic and Citra until it's crossed over into West Coast Pils territory. The can promises fresh mango, fruit by the foot, and juicy mandarin, and for a beer that begins as something clean and lager-like, that's a lot of personality to pick up along the way.
$16 for a 4-pack, no limit, at Orange, Costa Mesa, and Sunset Beach. Borrowed recipes don't always turn out this well. Worth grabbing a few before the collab week wraps up.
