Varitage Brew Works is a pint‑sized powerhouse in Bloomfield, New Jersey, where a trio of cultural lineages—Azorean Portuguese, Italian, and good‑old Northern Jersey—have been distilled into a rotating roster of nano‑batch ales. The place doesn’t just pump out beer; it pours history, with each hop‑laden or dark, brooding brew acting as a tiny tribute to its founders’ heritage (they’ve managed to keep the whole operation delightfully intimate).
The taproom is a veritable community hub: expect regular sports watch parties on a big‑screen projector, live music that actually sounds good, and a menu of specialty foods—most notably pizza that pairs better with a crisp pilsner than any pretentious cheese board. The staff are as friendly as they are knowledgeable, ready to guide you through the ever‑changing flagships brewed on‑site. And if you care about the wider world, you’ll appreciate their public‑spirit: a genuine commitment to mental‑health support and eco‑friendly practices. In short, Varitage delivers quality craft without the pretension, offering something for every palate while keeping the atmosphere as warm and inclusive as a well‑kept barstool.
