Pumpkin Cheesecake Lager Chases Dessert Without a Dark Malt Base

O'so Brewing's returning Pumpkin Cheesecake Lager is back on tap and in cans at the Plover taphouse, though the brewery says supply is already tightening as distribution goes out.

O'so Brewing Company's Pumpkin Cheesecake Lager is back for the season, pouring on tap and available in cans at the Plover, Wisconsin taphouse. It's one of three returning pumpkin beers the brewery brought back this week to open its fall lineup, alongside Salted Caramel Pumpkin Porter and Vanilla Pumpkin Cream Ale.

O'so describes the beer as smooth and creamy, built to carry pumpkin cheesecake flavor in a lager base - a lighter foundation than the porters and stouts pumpkin beers usually lean on, which puts more pressure on the beer's body to carry that dessert character without the roasted malt backbone a darker style would supply for free. The brewery notes that a good share of this year's batch has already shipped out to distribution, so taphouse supply is limited for now.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Lager is available now on tap and in cans at O'so's Plover taphouse while supplies last.
