Kaleidoscope Runs Four Fruits at Once, One Job Each

Flux Brewing adds a new flavor to its Kaleidoscope sour series, combining blueberries, dragon fruit, mango, and lemon for what the brewery calls an explosion of tart and sweet.

Flux Brewing Company's Kaleidoscope series continues with a new fruit combination: blueberries, dragon fruit, mango, and lemon. The brewery describes the result as more fruit than any previous edition of the beer, a notable claim given the series is now three flavors deep - this one joins existing Kaleidoscope releases built around peach and green tea, and blueberry and apricot, according to Flux's beer menu.

According to the brewery, the four fruits come together for an explosion of tart and sweet: dragon fruit and mango lean toward sweetness, lemon supplies the tartness, and blueberry rounds out the middle. The beer carries the full name Kaleidoscope Blueberry Dragon Fruit Mango Lemonade Sour - a mouthful, but one that doubles as a complete ingredient list.

Running a sour as a series rather than a single release lets a brewery vary the fruit combination while keeping the base consistent, and Flux's decision to keep adding entries suggests the format has found an audience. Kaleidoscope Blueberry Dragon Fruit Mango Lemonade Sour is available now on tap and in cans at the Flux taproom in Scotland, Ontario.
