It has been a rough stretch of weather in Astoria this week, the kind where even the brewery's own newsletter is joking about "moderately bad air quality" on the beer pier. Not exactly ideal drinking conditions. Fort George found a decent answer anyway.
Paisley Pom is a pink pomegranate lager, handcrafted with a snap of acidity and a smooth, flavorful finish, coming in at 4.8% ABV. Fort George spends most of the write-up riffing on how the paisley pattern and the pomegranate fruit apparently share the same murky, disputed origin story, which is a lot of history for a beer that mostly just wants to be refreshing. It succeeds at the second part, at minimum.
Available now. If the air quality where you are is behaving any better than Astoria's, even better, but honestly this one works either way.
