Post & Beam Brewing in Peterborough, New Hampshire, occupies a former schoolhouse that once churned out lessons instead of lagers. The old Peterborough Academy has been converted into a taproom where the walls still whisper of exams while the taps whisper of perfectly balanced brews.

Their lineup reads like a European textbook with a New England twist: a razor‑clean lager, a buttery farmhouse ale brewed in the Grisette tradition, a tart sour that could make a fruit‑stand jealous, and a midnight‑black stout that feels like a warm blanket on a cold night. Seasonal releases swing between feather‑light summer sippers and robust winter warmers, all stamped with the same relentless consistency that has earned them a stellar reputation.

Food is simple but spot‑on: lightly prepared snacks and a wood‑fired pizza from Blackfire Farm appears every week, proving that great beer deserves a worthy sidekick. The atmosphere (which is surprisingly relaxed for a historic venue) invites locals and wanderers alike to linger, chat, and feel part of something bigger. Sustainability isn’t a buzzword here—it’s woven into the brewery’s daily routine, cementing Post & Beam as more than a drinking hole, but a genuine community hub.
