Bent Paddle Brewing Co. has released Gandering Goose Gose, a German-style sour ale the brewery describes internally as its Gatorade beer. It's brewed with coriander, sea salt, and key lime - the coriander and lime doing the traditional gose work of bright citrus and spice, with the sea salt reinforcing the style's signature light salinity rather than adding an unusual twist to it.
The brewery calls the result bright, super refreshing, and tart. At 4.4 percent ABV and just 1 IBU, it's built almost entirely for drinkability over bitterness - a hop presence that low leaves nothing standing between the drinker and the salt-and-citrus profile, which is very much the point of the style.
Gandering Goose Gose is available now at Bent Paddle's Duluth taproom, part of a trio of new releases the brewery announced together this month.
