Long Player

I don't know much about 35-year-old record stores. Creature Comforts built a wheated pale ale for one anyway, and at 5.3 percent, it doesn't need the backstory to work.

I'll admit upfront I know nothing about the record store business. Thirty-five years apparently means something in that world, and Creature Comforts is treating it like it does.

Long Player celebrates the 35th anniversary of Criminal Records, co-founders of Record Store Day and a fixture of Atlanta's Little Five Points neighborhood, with a Wheated Pale Ale at 5.3% ABV finished with orange, hints of citrus, and a nice little hop note to round it out. Whatever the record-store context, the beer itself doesn't need footnotes to make sense.

Athens' Creature Comforts keeps finding local institutions worth naming a beer after, and a wheated pale ale is a sensible, unfussy way to mark thirty-five years of anything.

Releasing July 24th.

Don't know much about vinyl. Know enough about this beer.
