Woodcutter's Blanket – Bar & Brewery sits in a genuine 1930s prospector’s cabin in Whitehorse, Yukon, complete with an unapologetically tacky faux‑moose that could make a museum curator blush. Inside, the crew shuns gimmickry and serves up unfiltered, small‑batch ales brewed with local ingredients, straight from on‑site tanks so fresh you could almost hear the yeast still humming.
The drink list is a playground for the curious: classic Yukon styles sit alongside creative twists, and a selection of local whiskey flights lets you sample the north’s spirit (the kind of thing that makes you wonder why you ever settled for ordinary). Food follows the same “no nonsense” philosophy, featuring dishes built from locally sourced produce but with flavours that could have been lifted from any corner of the globe—think hearty Yukon fare with a passport in its pocket.
Patio seating invites a bit of chaos: friends dropping in mid‑meal are welcomed, and the deals on offer are generous enough to keep both wallets and bellies happy. All of this is wrapped in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like a neighbor who just happened to stumble upon a piece of Yukon history.
This brewery and restaurant offers a unique experience with great beers, creative food options from various global cuisines, and attentive staff. Many reviewers praise the atmosphere, coffee-forward stout, and impressive beer selection. Service can be uneven during peak periods.
