Anderson Valley Brewing Co. has been turning out serious liquid art in Boonville, California since 1987. The place marries the reverence of a heritage brewery with the cheeky bravado of a craftâbeer rebel, serving up everything from a razorâsharp Gose that has won more medals than a British Olympian to an oatmeal stout so deep it could drown a small shark. Their solarâpowered vats prove that you can harness the sun without turning the beer into a puddle, and the lowâcalorie options show that flavor neednât be sacrificed on the altar of dieting (the founders (who had worked together for years) decided early on that good beer shouldnât feel like a punishment).
Beyond the taps, the site is a playground for the modern enthusiast: an EV charger sits beside a dogâfriendly lawn, live music thunders every Friday, and a pool table, cornhole lanes, and even a discâgolf course keep the crowd busy when the pint glass is empty. Sustainability is not a buzzword hereâitâs baked into the operation, and the everâexpanding roster of sours and other styles confirms that Anderson Valley isnât just brewing beer; itâs crafting experiences worth a repeat visit.
