Superior Bathhouse Brewery sits in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and does something truly singular: it brews every one of its 18 rotating craft beers with water straight from the park’s thermal springs. That mineral‑rich liquid gives each pint a faint, invigorating edge you won’t find in any ordinary taproom, and the brewery proudly boasts the title of the world’s only brewer using such spring water, as well as the only one operating inside a U.S. National Park. All of this unfolds inside a meticulously restored 1916 bathhouse, now a vibrant brewpub where the clatter of glasses replaces the echo of steam rooms.
The menu is a lesson in honesty—every beer’s ingredients are listed with refreshing transparency, and the food follows suit. Highlights include a daring pineapple‑infused “tiny p” ale, a smash burger slathered in bacon jam and melted Gouda, and a nostalgic root‑beer‑float dessert that feels like a sweet encore. Purchase a draught and you’ll be handed a free can to take home, a gesture that feels more generous than a free‑gift‑shop trinket (the founders, who once argued whether hops or barley deserved the limelight, finally settled on spring water). All of this combines into a sensory experience that feels less pretentious and more pure craftsmanship.
Superior Bathhouse Brewery is highly praised for its dog-friendly atmosphere and menu transparency, offering delicious food options like fried chicken sandwiches and steak nachos. Beer flights are also popular, with unique flavors and generous portions available.
