Feeling Peely Goood

Thirteen months in Willett bourbon barrels, a collab with Cloudwater Brew Company, orange peel and chocolate fudge worked in along the way: Feeling Peely Goood is a 13.7% imperial stout that took its time getting here.

Thirteen months is a long time to wait on anything, let alone a beer sitting quietly in a barrel while everyone forgets it exists. Feeling Peely Goood spent that stretch resting in Willett Bourbon Barrels, a barrel-blended imperial stout made in collaboration with Cloudwater Brew Company, conditioned along the way on orange peel, chocolate fudge, and cacao nibs.

At 13.7 percent ABV, this is not a beer built for a quick pour between errands - it is the kind of release meant to be sipped slowly and maybe split with someone, the orange peel cutting through what would otherwise be a fairly heavy, dessert-leaning stout. Cloudwater has a reputation worth knowing if barrel-aged stouts are a regular stop, and pairing with a brewery like that on something this patient suggests both sides wanted to make a genuine occasion out of it rather than just another seasonal one-off.

It is available now as a bottle through the online shop, or in person at the Doral and Oakland Park taprooms. Worth setting aside an evening for, rather than squeezing it in on the way out the door.
