HIYU

Four breweries, one bottle, and a blend named for the ferry that gets them all in the same room. Understated way to describe a genuinely collaborative beer.

Saisons are supposed to be an expression of a specific place and time. HIYU takes that idea and applies it to a boat instead of a farmhouse, which is a fair trade given the circumstances.

HIYU is a blend of saisons from Fair Isle, Otherlands, Holy Mountain, and Bizarre, four Pacific Northwest breweries pooled into one bottle for Ferry & Friends, Fair Isle's annual week celebrating the historic ferry that brings visiting breweries to Seattle. The blend itself is the point here more than any single flavor note: four different fermentation styles and house characters, brought together rather than smoothed over.

Released Wednesday to kick off Ferry & Friends week, poured alongside guest beers from the visiting breweries at Fair Isle's Ballard taproom. No ticket required, just show up and grab a glass.
