As the World Falls Down

A brewery that runs synth nights and neon signs named a blonde ale after a Bowie ballad from Labyrinth. Peaches, elderflower, honeysuckle, and a whole lot of theme commitment.

You can tell a lot about a brewery by what it names its beers after. Outrun's whole thing is synthwave, neon signage, and Saturday night shows with bands called Neon Warlords, so when they build a beer around a David Bowie ballad from a puppet movie about a Goblin King, it tracks completely.

As the World Falls Down is a Fruited Blonde Ale aged on peaches, elderflower, and honeysuckle, built as what they're calling a dreamlike sip fit for the Goblin King himself. It's a soft, fruit-forward beer with a theme that's fully committed rather than tacked on, which is the part that makes it work.

Find it at Outrun's taproom in Stone Mountain, where the neon sign is presumably still glowing pink over the bar. Worth grabbing one and letting the name do its thing.
