Riverlands Brewing Company named this one Acid Rainbow. The can is a swirl of pink and purple. It looks like it was built in a lab for maximum sugar-rush appeal.
It is a sour ale. Strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry. All four, at once. A dollop of vanilla on top of that. No lactose in it, which the brewery points out unprompted, so that anyone who usually skips the milkshake-style stuff can drink this one too.
Riverlands has been doing this since 2019. Their tagline is "Brewed by Friends, for Friends." Their taproom in St. Charles runs weekend food trucks and live music. None of that is dramatic. Neither is this beer, once you look past the can.
